I took my car to an auto detailing place the other day, and the guy in charge informed me that I had been neglecting my car for years. I was shocked. After all, I get regular oil changes and follow my maintenance records. The guy applying car wax, however, believed I was not so good. After he was finished with the car wax, he came over to give me an earful. “Your paint was so foggy. How could you let this happen?” When did not applying car wax become such a sin? There were lots of other customers, sitting in their suits like me, glancing over to get a look at me being reprimanded. Honestly, I love my car. I did not mean to harm it. The car wax man put me on the straight and narrow path to car owner goodness.

Car wax forms a protective layer on your car. Car wax is like sunscreen is to humans. It forms a barrier to shield from outside elements. In addition, it makes your car sparkle as if it were new and hides scratches. Regular application of car wax can keep your car looking new. You can go to the professional or do it yourself. After my little public scolding, I may choose to do it myself in the future. There are so many different kinds of car wax out there and they all are dependent upon how you apply them and when. When I took a look at a “Consumer Reports” snapshot of car wax, they concluded that the fancy ones do not perform any better than cheaper ones.

Wash and dry your car before you begin to put on any car wax. It is a good idea to check for any dirt that may be hiding in weird places before you start. Any remaining dirt might scuff your paint as you rub in the wax. Make sure your car is not in the direct sun. Do not attempt to do this on a frigid day, as your labors will not yield much success. Rub the car wax on in circular patterns, using a soft cloth that will not scratch your paint. Keep track of where you have placed the wax. Wait for the applied car wax to get cloudy before you remove it. Rub the wax off in circular movements with a clean rag. Make sure you use a clean section of your cloth every time you move to a new spot, so you will not leave any residue. Once the car is done, stand back and admire. You arm may be tired, but you will not have to do it again for a few months. It is ideal to apply a new coat of car wax every quarter.

I have seen recommendations for two separate sponges to be used, one for the wheels and one for the chassis, if you would like.

It is a good idea to at least dry off the outside windows, if not the entire car, after rinsing. It is best to wipe down the windshield and windows inside the car with some household glass cleaner and paper towel. Protective rubber spray to keep your tires from cracking can be a good investment. Tire spray will keep your rubber from cracking and weakening in the heat.

This is because for that amount and for that long, it includes a Pinnacle Miracle Detail, which has 61 stages. It will also receive Zymol Royal wax treatment in 4 layers. The wax itself is about $13,000 per container so at least you know that you are getting your moneys worth. Of course your car will also have an indoor carpet shampoo and vacuum.

Now if you are not very particular and have no inclination whatsoever in paying $9,000 for a car wash, then there are other good car washes for you.

Car wax makes your car’s “new car” shine last longer and restores shine to older cars, but only if you pick the right wax for your car. Some car waxes can scratch and haze your car’s finish; others can make your finish gleam, but coat the plastic parts in a visible residue. Here are a few questions you need to ask as you pore over the vast selection of car waxes available at your local auto store.

Do you want shine, or depth of color? Natural car waxes, such as Carnauba wax, give a car’s finish depth, but slightly less shine. Artificial waxes, like most liquid and spray on waxes, give a high shine but less depth of color, and can highlight fine scratches.

Car wax of high quality brings a special shine to the car and therefore, quality car wax should be the right choice.

Most of the people are always confused for the selection of the car wax because they argue that it can be dangerous for the car. However, it has been proved that it is made up of carnauba or from other natural waxes hence, they do not damage the cars. Moreover, waxes also offer protection and warm to the cars which increase the life of the car. It is the choice of the car owners because it is easily applicable.

Liquid car wax is the hardest to apply to your car and it takes a lot of work to buff after applying liquid car wax. Paste car wax used to be the most common type of car wax used but is now the least commonly used car wax. Paste car wax comes with a resuable applicator that makes it easy to spread on a car and helps avoid getting car wax on the windows of your car. The newest kind of car wax is the spray on, wipe off car wax. This kind of car wax can even be applied to a car that is still wet but the shine does not last very long.
